At Rules 4 Life Learning Center, we believe education is a shared responsibility that unites the students, home, school, and community in the decision-making and problem-solving process while creating a mutual bond of respect and trust.
Our four rules for life are our core values that guide our work, determine our priorities, and inform our decision-making at all points.
Our four rules are for LIFE!
1. Love of Learning
"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do." - Pele
Every student, whatever their circumstance, holds the innate potential to achieve their goals and succeed in life. Often this is challenged either by personal experience or external societal pressures. But we are unwavering in our commitment to approaching every student not in terms of what they lack but in what is possible.
"The time is always right to do what is right." – Martin Luther King, Jr.
Honesty and trust are central to integrity, and we are committed to building a community where all individuals act with honesty, openness, and respect. We hold ourselves to the highest academic and ethical standards, both in Rules 4 Life Learning Center and our communities.
"I will not be distracted by noise, chatter, or setbacks. Instead, patience, commitment, grace, and purpose will guide me." – Louise L. Hay.
Learning how to focus and get something done is about more than just good grades — it's the foundation for success in life. Mastering the skills of getting organized, staying focused, and seeing work through to the end will help our students succeed.
"Excellence is never an accident; it is the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, skillful execution, and the vision to see obstacles as opportunities." -Anonymous.
Achieving excellence requires that we all take responsibility for our role in the success of students, colleagues, and the academy. We rise together to meet the toughest challenges. We push ourselves towards developing effective and sustainable solutions to removing barriers to students' success or, when possible, empowering our students to navigate such hurdles themselves. Self-reflection and an earnest desire to continually improve are integral components of every Rules 4 Life Learning Center level.
